The Canada Post Strike Makes its Way to Halton

The ongoing Canada Post strike will now be impacting some Halton residents.
According to a recent press release, while negotiations continue, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) has started strikes in the following areas: Quebec City and La Tuque, Que., Fredericton, St. Stephen, Miramichi, Acadie Bathurst, Campbellton and Edmunston, N.B., Chatham, Clinton, Orangeville, Port Hope, Stratford, Strathroy, Tillsonburg, Wingham, Woodstock, Ont., as well as in Georgetown and Milton
As of last night, Nov. 6, CUPW shut down Canada’s largest processing centre in Toronto for a second time in three weeks.
Since Oct. 22, CUPW’s rotating strikes have shut down Canada Post’s operations in more than 100 communities across the country.

Although, strikes have ended in some areas including Scarborough, Pickering, London, Barrie, Sarnia, Amherstburg, Delhi, St. Thomas and Owen Sound, Ont., as well as in the Saguenay Lac St-Jean, Hautes-Laurentides and Mont-Joli regions of Quebec.
Customers should expect delays of several days for mail or parcel deliveries.
