Snow squall watch in effect for Oakville and Burlington

Environment Canada says a snow squall watch is in effect for Burlington and Oakville.

On its website, the weather agency says that while lake effect flurries have tapered off this afternoon, it is likely that a snow squall will redevelop overnight or early Saturday morning, potentially bringing another 20 cm or more of snow.

“Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather,” Environment Canada says.

“Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.”
