Several cars vandalized in Oakville

Halton Regional Police are searching for two suspects in connection to a string of vandalism in Oakville.

Halton Regional Police are searching for two suspects in connection to a string of vandalism in Oakville.

On October 26, between 5 and 5:30 a.m., several cars parked in residential driveways in the area of Upper Middle Road and Third Line were vandalized.

Liana Spiteri is an Oakville resident whose car was one of the ones vandalized. “I was informed about the damage by the police who were canvassing the area. They noticed my car had been hit and knocked on my door to let me know about it,” Spiteri said.

Police believe the culprits used landscaping items such as rocks and stones to smash the cars’ windows and windshields. According to Spiteri, there didn’t appear to be any reason for the destruction, “it was just random vandalism,” she said. The damage to Spiteri’s car is estimated to cost $7,000 to repair.

Currently, police are searching for two suspects–both men–who were caught on surveillance near the scene.

Anyone with relevant information, including security footage capturing possible suspects is asked to contact Detective Ron Wright of the Oakville Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4747 ext. 2284.

Additionally, information can be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477 or visiting their website.
