Several Burlington road closures expected for Santa Road Race

Much of downtown Burlington will be shut down Saturday for the Santa 5K Road Race.

Full Road Closure:

6 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Full Road Closure:

6 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

  • Brant Street from Ontario Street to Elgin Street
  • James Street from Brant Street to John Street

Partial Rolling Road Closures: (opened once the last Santa passes)

8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

  • Lakeshore Road from Elizabeth Street to Maple Avenue, 8:30 to 9:45 a.m.
  • Maple Avenue to Maple Crossing, 8:30 to 10 a.m.
  • Maple Crossing to Grahams Lane, 8:40 to 10:15 a.m.
  • Brant Street from Grahams Lane to finish line (Elgin), 8:50 to 10:25 a.m.
  • All other streets on the race route will have one lane open for local access

Halton Regional Police Service will direct traffic at major intersections while event marshals help runners and motorists at multi-residential driveways and on side streets.

Event notices were delivered to all residences, religious centres, and businesses affected by the event.
