According to a recent report, office workplaces are much more laid back than they used to be.
The report, conducted by Accountemps, found that 90 per cent of managers said workplaces were more relaxed than they were 10 years ago.
These “chill” work atmospheres have been attributed to more relaxed social norms, as well as businesses catering to younger professionals.
However, while many workplaces have become more lenient with how people conduct themselves, there are still many actions that people find unwelcome in the workplace.

The number one most unwelcome action in the workplace is cursing; 55 per cent of respondents said they don’t believe cursing or using foul language has any place at the office.
Bringing an animal to work came in second, with 51 per cent of respondents saying their workplaces should be pet-free.
In third was displaying political decorations–47 per cent said this was not acceptable.
Additionally, 42 per cent said streaming political events was off-limits, and 22 per cent said even talking about it was unacceptable.
Tattoos, which were considered unacceptable in more than 80 per cent of workplaces, have become more acceptable, as a third of managers said they were accepting of employees having tattoos and non-traditional piercings.
“As workplaces evolve, many professionals are looking for greater flexibility from employers when it comes to their individual preferences at work,” Koula Vasilopoulos, district president for Accountemps, said in a news release.
“How an organization’s company culture is perceived can have an impact on the kinds of professionals it attracts, and ultimately retains. It’s up to employers to set the tone for the environment they want to promote by creating clear guidelines around office etiquette and using their own behaviour to set an example,” she continued.
