Looking for a great way to enjoy the warm summer weather while also keeping the kids entertained?

The annual Downtown Milton Street Festival has you covered.

Hosted by the Town of Milton and the Downtown Milton Business Improvement Area (BIA), the festival will be returning this Saturday, June 2nd for an afternoon of live entertainment, food, street vendors, and fun.

Admission is free and the event is set to run from noon to 11:00 p.m.

The festival this year will feature live music and dance performances from over 30 artists and groups, with an extensive line up of performances to take place on the Rockwool Main Street Stage, BMO Community Stage, and James Street Stage (all situated along Main St).

Genres include folk, jazz, rock, easy listening, blues, big band, Celtic, and country.

If you’re hungry, the Food Truck Zone will have trucks selling a variety of foods close to one of the stages — as well as the Beer Tent, run by the Royal Canadian Legion.

Meanwhile, the younger attendees can spend time at the Kidz Zone, featuring bouncy castles, obstacle courses, bungee runs, and other fun activities. Admission to this area will be free.

The festival got its start in 2007 as a celebration of Milton’s 150th anniversary, but became an annual event due to the positive reception from the community. Since then, attendance has been steadily growing, with over 90,000 people attending the festival in 2017.

For more information on the event, including a list of all performers and vendors, you can check the festival’s website at downtownmiltonstreetfestival.ca.

Enjoy the festivities, Milton!
