The Spoons will soon be stirring up those “Old Emotions” again in Oakville.

Armed with new tunes from their latest album release, New Day New World, the popular local duo of Gord Depp and Sandy Horne will be performing in a live stream by the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts on Friday, March 5 at 8:00 p.m.

New Day New World is the first studio project to be released in eight years by the popular Burlington band, which rose to fame in the 1980s with hits like “Old Emotions,” “Nova Heart” and “Romantic Traffic.”

Their latest album, produced by Jeff Carter, plays on their earlier edgy electro-80s sound and evokes the fun, pop sounds of their biggest hits while transporting them firmly into today.

Formed in 1980, the band consisting of Derrick Ross, Rob Preuss, Depp and Horne would release their first album, Stick Figure Neighbourhood, a year later. The Spoons would truly put  themselves on the map and commercial radio fame with the release of “Nova Heart.”

New Day New World can be purchased directly on both CD and vinyl, as well as several digital formats by visiting spoonsmusic.com.

Tickets for The Spoons Duo Live Stream are $15 each and can be purchased by going to oakvillecentre.ca/the-spoon.html. The presale code is Oakville.
