Halton Regional Police said they’re investigating a “hate-motivated” crime in Oakville.
While police did not provide details on what was spray painted, they said St. Volodymyr Ukrainian Orthodox Church was the victim of graffiti vandalism.
“We are appealing to the public to come forward with any information that would assist us in determining the person(s) responsible,” said Halton Police.
They added they will not be releasing images of the graffiti and “further spreading the suspect’s message by confirming what text was painted on the monument”.
