Police arrest three in theft of catalytic converters in Oakville

Thanks to an alert member of the public, Halton Regional Police have arrested three people from Quebec in connection with the theft of catalytic converters from cars in Oakville.
Thanks to an alert member of the public, Halton Regional Police have arrested three people from Quebec in connection with the theft of catalytic converters from cars in Oakville.
Police say on Sept. 23 at 1:34 a.m. the suspects were interrupted trying to take the catalytic converters from a car in the area of Speers Rd. and Third Line.
Officers were called to the scene where they stopped a vehicle leaving the area. Several of the stolen goods were discovered and three were arrested.
Charges are as follows:

Richard Dunn (45) of Quebec was charged with:
-Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
-Theft Under $5000 (4 counts).
He was held for a bail hearing.
Kristin Mckoy (37) of Quebec was charged with:
-Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
-Theft Under $5000 (4 counts).
She was held for a bail hearing.
Christopher Ryan (44) of Quebec was charged with:
-Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
-Theft Under $5000 (4 counts)
-Fail to Comply with Probation.
He was held for a bail hearing.
Investigators believe the three are responsible for numerous catalytic converter thefts during the months of August and September in Southern Ontario and additional charges are anticipated.
Catalytic converters are often the target of thieves because of their value and relative ease with which they can be stolen.
