Halton Regional Police have arrested a male suspect they believe is responsible for shooting up and robbing a Milton pizza shop on Thursday evening.
The accused was arrested by the 1 District Criminal Investigations Unit, with assistance from the Emergency Services Unit, without incident at his Milton residence on Friday at approximately 10:30 a.m.
Police also recovered the firearm they believe was used in the shooting at the Pizza Nova, located at 6921 Derry Road.
The accused is being held in custody pending a bail hearing. The name of the accused and list of charges will be released once he has appeared before the courts.
Police received multiple calls early Thursday evening at approximately 6:55 p.m. that a shooting had just occurred at the Pizza Nova location.
It was reported that a lone male had entered the restaurant with a black long gun and demanded cash from an employee. After getting an undisclosed amount of cash, the male suspect fired off several rounds inside the restaurant.
He exited the store and continued to fire off several more rounds before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.
No one was injured in this incident.
