Over 300K COVID-19 vaccines administered in Halton to date

As of May 25, 2021, Halton Region has administered over 300,000 COVID-19 vaccines.

According to regional data, a total of 301,791 doses have been administered in the region, while 266,599 have been given to Halton residents.

Over 20,000 doses have been administered in mobile clinics, over 42,000 have been given at pharmacies and physicians’ offices and over 238,000 have been issued at community and hospital-based clinics in Halton.

While over 29,000 doses have been given to individuals 80+ in Halton, regional public data from last week indicated that 12 per cent of residents in this age group have yet to receive the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

“With more vaccines arriving in Canada we know that more than 42 per cent of Canadians have received at least one dose and 50 per cent of Halton’s residents have now received their first dose,” said Oakville Mayor Rob Burton in a recent e-newsletter.

“Following first doses, we can all begin to look forward to full vaccination with a second dose and, hopefully, a move towards recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.”

According to provincial data, a total of 8,251,642 doses have been administered in Ontario.

Additionally, a total of 544,288 individuals in Ontario are now fully vaccinated.
