Ongoing heat warning could last even longer in Hamilton and Halton

The current heat in Hamilton and Halton isn’t going anywhere soon.

A heat warning is in effect for portions of the GTHA, with daytime highs of 31 to 34 degrees Celsius and overnight lows 20 to 22.

While the heat warning is from now (June 5) until Monday, it’s possible the heat may last into Tuesday.

“Hot and humid air can also bring deteriorating air quality and can result in the Air Quality Health Index to approach the high risk category. The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors,” says Environment Canada.

Residents are advised to stay cool by drinking plenty of liquids and only scheduling outdoor activities during the coolest parts of the day.
