A new community kitchen has opened up in Oakville.
It’s located at the Queen Elizabeth Park and Community Centre.

“QE Park now has a beautiful, state-of-the-art kitchen that will enable community organizations to prepare and serve their own food at their events,” said Oakville MPP Kevin Flynn.

“This facility will help connect more people, to break, and maybe even bake bread together.”
The commercial-grade kitchen will provide a venue for cooking and nutrition programs for all ages, including upcoming spring programs and summer camps.
It will also be available for community programs and events.
The kitchen will serve as a gateway to help connect different local organizations throughout the year.
“Council is always looking for new opportunities for residents to share their culture and connect with each other,” said Mayor Rob Burton.
“This new inclusive community kitchen will allow them to do so in a meaningful way.”
Administered by the Ontario Trillium Foundation, Ontario150 Community Capital Program grants help nonprofit organizations, municipalities and Indigenous communities renovate, repair and retrofit existing community and cultural infrastructure.
The one-time grant was designed to help honour the province’s past, showcase the present and inspire future generations.
