A popular west Oakville restaurant known for its fresh bread and pasta is closing its doors after more than 14 years in business.

Artisano Bakery Café, located in the RioCan Centre at 3505 Wyecroft Road, explained on a Facebook post that the COVID-19 pandemic has taken its toll and they “regrettably” could not continue.

“It is with great sadness that we at Artisano announce we will be closing our doors,” the Café’s post on Facebook said. “We had hoped to weather the storm and see this pandemic through to the end, but regrettably we were unable to do so. We wanted to take this opportunity to say farewell to all our friends and loyal patrons.

“We are honoured to have been part of the community for over 14 years and are fortunate and proud to have been able to provide a warm and friendly environment for our guests, friends and families to enjoy. Thank You and Stay Safe.”

From its steak and eggs panini at breakfast and steak chimichurri sandwich at lunch to the meat lasagna and pizza for dinner, the menu offered customers plenty to choose from.

“Thank you,” one customer posted on the Café’s Facebook page. “We will miss you.”
