New Exhibit Set to Open at the Halton Hills Cultural Centre

A new exhibit is set to open at the Halton Hills Cultural Centre.

According to a recent press release, from Oct. 31 to Nov. 25 the town of Halton Hills’ Helson Gallery will feature a new exhibit created by Canadian wildlife photographers Rosemarie and Pat Keough.
The exhibit is known as Antarctica: Passion and Obsession and is comprised of 56 images created over a two-year time period.
“The photographs are both eye-opening and inspiring,” Halton Hills Mayor Rick Bonnette said in a recent press release.
“This exhibition has toured internationally and we are thrilled to be able to bring it to the Halton Hills community.”
Helson Gallery Curator, Judy Daley agreed.
“If you think of the Antarctic continent as a vast, frozen wasteland, prepare to be amazed by the colour and diversity of life captured by the Keoughs,” Daley said in a recent press release.
Rosemarie Keough will give a free public talk about the exhibition and the challenges that she and Pat encountered while capturing the harsh Antarctic environment.
The talk will take place on Nov. 15 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Helson Gallery.

The duo’s portfolio of stunning Antarctic photos has also been compiled in a limited edition tome bound by Felton Bookbinding of Georgetown. The tome and a display about its making are also featured in the exhibit.
A copy of the Antarctica tome was donated Halton Hills.
Another donated copy will be presented to the town’s sister city, Wenjiang (China), to recognize the municipalities’ shared interest in environmental stewardship.
The Helson Gallery is located at 9 Church St., Halton Hills and is open Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays: 1 to 5 p.m. and on Thursdays 1 to 8:30 p.m.
