Multiple individuals charged for impaired driving offences within Halton Region

Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Steeles Avenue East and Thompson Road North in Milton on July 3, 2020, just after 3:00 pm.

As a result of an investigation, 66-year-old John Laven of Milton was charged with operation while impaired.

On July 3, 2020, just after 4:00 pm, Halton Police officers responded to a collision in the area of Sutton Drive and Dundas Street in Burlington.

As a result of an investigation, 49-year-old Jose Darosa of Port Colborne was charged with operation while impaired.

On July 3, 2020, just before 11:30 pm, Halton Police officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. initiative in the area of Guelph Line and No. 10 Side Road in Milton.

As a result of this initiative, 45-year-old Raymond Near of Arthur was charged with a blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On July 4, 2020, just after 11:30 pm, Halton Police officers responded to a collision in the area of 15 Side Road and Fourth Line Nassagaweya in Milton.

As a result of an investigation, 32-year-old Lyndsay Hood of Cambridge was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On July 5, 2020, just after 1:00 am, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Bristol Circle and Hyde Park Gate in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, Christopher Swaby (43) of Brampton was charged with failure or refusal to comply with the demand.

On July 5, 2020, just before 1:30 am, Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of James Snow Parkway and Main Street East in Milton.

As a result of an investigation, 48-year-old James Carlous of Innisville was charged with a blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On July 5, 2020, just before 9:00 pm, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Queen Street and Churchill Road North in Acton.

As a result of an investigation, 32-year-old Laura Gendron of Acton was charged with operation while impaired.

On July 6, 2020, just after 1:00 am, Halton Police officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. initiative in the area of Trafalgar Road, and South Service Road in Oakville.

As a result of this initiative, 40-year-old Julian Gagnon-Felber of Oakville was charged with a blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

The Halton Regional Police Service remains committed to road safety through prevention, education and enforcement initiatives.

Members of the public are reminded that driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol is a crime in progress and to call 9-1-1 immediately to report a suspected impaired driver.
