Milton traffic stops leads to gun seizure, two arrests

Two have been arrested and a gun seized as a result of a traffic stop in Milton.

Two have been arrested and a gun seized as a result of a traffic stop in Milton.

Halton Police say officers pulled over a vehicle on James Snow Pkwy for a traffic violation late on Tuesday night (Oct. 6)

As a result of the stop and subsequent investigation by officers on scene, two arrests were made and one firearm was seized.

Illia Ayo, 18, of London has been charged with the following offences:

  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of Restricted Firearm
  • Breach of Firearms Regulations
  • Unauthorized Possession in Motor Vehicle
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl)
  • Breach of Release Order (x2)

Mahmoud Abuain, 18, of Milton has been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl)
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Schedule 4)

Both accused were held pending a bail hearing in Milton. 

Items seized by police include a .45 calibre handgun, 14 grams of suspected fentanyl, and a large number of pills believed to be Xanax.
