Milton Public Library completes successful ‘Fine Forgiveness’ program

Milton Public Library (MPL) declared its annual Fine Forgiveness program a success after “200 items were donated by Milton residents, including important high-demand items such as baby food, diapers, and formula”.

Through the month of October, MPL gathered donations for the Milton Community Resource Centre (MCRC) Infant Food Bank. In return, donators had their overdue library fees waived by MPL.

“Thanks to the contributions from the patrons of the Milton Public Library throughout October, we received a generous donation of diapers, formula, baby food, and other baby items from the community,” aid Laura Gilbert, Infant Food Bank Facilitator. “This donation will help the 73 families and 97 children we serve on average every month at the Infant Food Bank”.

“We are so grateful to the Milton Public Library and Miltonians for helping us help local children in need. Thank you so much, everyone!”

While the Fine Forgiveness program has ended, donations can still be made to the MCRC in-person and online.
