A 62-year-old Milton woman has died of her injuries after she was struck by a pickup truck in Milton.

Charges aren’t being laid under the Criminal Code, Halton police Det.-Const. Greg Cormier confirmed on Tuesday.

The victim has been identified by police as Jovita Pangilinan.

Pangilinan is the pedestrian who was struck on Oct. 2 while crossing at Ontario St. and Laurier Ave. when she was hit by a 2003 Dodge Dakota turning right onto Ontario at 5:03 p.m.

The driver remained at the scene.

Speed, drugs, and alcohol weren’t factors in the collision, police said at the time.

Pangilinan suffered life-threatening injuries.

She was treated by paramedics and transported to Hamilton General Hospital, where she died on Oct. 12.

A Highway Traffic Act charge – failing to yield to pedestrian – has been laid against a 21-year-old Milton woman.

Sara Blay is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 20.
