A 55-year-old live-in caregiver is facing charges after cash and property were stolen from a Burlington home.
A 55-year-old live-in caregiver is facing charges after cash and property were stolen from a Burlington home.
The woman was an in-house care provider for one of the elderly residents, say Halton police.
Items were taken between Dec. 2017 and Jan. 4, investigators allege.
The suspect was arrested and some stolen property was recovered.

Charmain Bibiana Peter of St. Lucia is charged with; theft over $5,000; three counts of theft under $5,000; possession of property obtained by crime; uttering threats.
Police are advising Halton residents to ensure they conduct thorough screening processes for hiring live-in care providers and care givers who are entering their home.
If you hire them privately, ensure they’re entitled to work in Canada with a social insurance number, conduct reference checks, and ask questions about their qualifications for the services they’re going to be providing.
