The City of Burlington is prepared for another fun and exciting winter season.

The city although there may not be enough snow yet, according to a recent news release, is ready for winter fun with the launch of its Neighbourhood Rink program, the opening of the Burlington Rotary Centennial Pond, and several designated tobogganing locations.

The Neighbourhood Rink program, a program that launched four years ago, encourages residents to come together in order to maintain outdoor community ice rinks at local parks this winter.

These rinks will be open to the public and are free to use. For more information about the Neighbourhood Rink program, visit burlington.ca/neighbourhoodrink.

The Burlington Rotary Centennial Pond is another free place to skate this winter. The rink is scheduled to open today, Dec. 8, if the weather permits. The rink is located at the waterfront, downtown Burlington and brings in roughly 9,000 skaters each year.

The rink will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. On Christmas Eve, the rink will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and closed on Christmas Day.
