You could receive up to $10,000.00 for a project in your Burlington community.

Here’s how.

According to a recent press release, the City of Burlington is now accepting applications for the Neighbourhood Community Matching Fund (NCMF).

The deadline to apply is Feb. 28, 2019.

This year, the city encourages residents to think big, thanks to an increase in financial support.

In 2019, available funding for each project will be $10,000 (an increase from $5,000 in 2018).

The goal of the NCMF is to improve neighbourhoods by creating a sense of belonging and community pride.

Burlington residents, brought together by a common goal or neighbourhood boundaries, are encouraged to submit ideas that help make the city a better place to live and play. Projects can increase walkability, promote beautification, inspire recreational activity, build social connections and increase safety or accessibility.

“The benefits of the Neighbourhood Community Matching Fund extend beyond the approved projects,” Chris Glenn, Director of Parks and Recreation, said in a recent press release.

“It provides communities and neighbourhoods with the opportunity to come together; developing a greater sense of belonging and civic pride. We hope the funding increase inspires residents to think big and consider how they can have a meaningful impact in their community.”
