Halton Region is inviting residents to take the 2020 Employment Survey from now until December 31, 2020, to collect information from local businesses.

The Employment Survey is an important resource that helps the Halton Region effectively plan for growth and stimulate job growth and economic development, as identified in Halton Region’s Strategic Business Plan 2019 – 2022.

A team of surveyors from the Region’s Planning Services Division will contact businesses in Halton to collect information on the number of employees working at the place of employment, the type of employment that’s taking place there and the type of business activity at the place of employment.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, surveyors will be following public health guidance and taking precautions, such as primarily conducting surveys over the phone or email, wearing face masks in public places and practicing safe physical distancing.

The region is also encouraging businesses to take the survey online.

Residents are reminded that all data collected from the survey is consolidated and released to the public through the Employment Survey Results report and individual business information is not identifiable nor published in the report.

The results of the 2019 Employment Survey that took place between May 13 and September 30, 2019, are now available online.
