Halton police reporting ongoing surge in drug overdoses

Halton police is reporting an ongoing surge in overdoses.

Police say they responded to seven suspected overdoses this past week, one of which involved a victim that did not survive.

Involved substances include cocaine, meth and hydromorphone, according to police.

Police say there has been a total of 28 overdoses so far this month.

Police are advising the public to take action to protect themselves from potential overdoses by going slow, to not use alone and to carry naloxone.
