Halton police and community mourn sudden death of long-time officer

Police are mourning the recent and sudden death of a long-time police officer.

Today, (Jan. 6) Halton police announced that one of their officers, Det. Cst. Michael Tidball, passed suddenly as a result of an acute medical episode while conducting an investigation this morning.

“Detective Constable Michael Tidball was a valued and well-loved member of the Halton Regional Police Service, having served in a variety of investigative and frontline patrol roles since he joined us in 2007,” said Halton police in a release.

“We extend our sincerest condolences to Mike’s family and friends and have offered our full support to them as they begin to grieve and heal.”

Halton police added, “His loss will leave a hole in our police family and in the Halton community-at-large.”

The flags at the Halton Regional Police Service will fly at half-mast in his memory.
