Jason Squires of Milton is celebrating after winning an Ontario 49 second lotto prize worth $50,000 in the July 29, draw.

He matched five numbers plus the bonus number to win the prize.

Jason, a married 49-year-old father of two, chose his numbers by using family birthdays.

“I checked my ticket using the OLG Lottery App,” he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his cheque. “I didn’t believe it, I had to scan it a few more times to make sure it was true.”

The heavy equipment operator immediately told his wife the good news.

“She was very happy,” he smiled.

Jason says he plans to pay some bills and go on a vacation when possible.

The winning ticket was purchased at Glow Variety and Grocery on Glow Ave in Hamilton.

Ontario 49 is $1 per play and the draws take place every Wednesday and Saturday.
