Halton District School Board hosting mental health information sessions

The Halton District School Board (HDSB) is hosting two Mental Health and Well-Being Information Sessions for parents and guardians.

The sessions will take place on Monday, March 29 and Tuesday, March 30 at 7:00 p.m. online at www.hdsb.ca.

The discussions will surround mental health and well-being for parents, children and youth and provide ways in which parents and guardians can support their children.

Each session will feature four panellists that will include parents, mental health experts and HDSB school social workers and community partners who will share their personal parenting experiences during COVID-19 and provide information and resources.

The information session on March 29 will include information for parents and guardians of elementary students and the session on March 30 will include information for parents and guardians of secondary school students.

These sessions will help parents and guardians learn about how the pandemic may be impacting mental health and well-being.

Additionally, they will provide coping and well-being strategies for them and their children as well as resources and support through their child’s school and within the community.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to submit questions for the panellists here from now until Thursday, March 24 at 11:59 p.m.

The sessions will be live-streamed through the HDSB YouTube channel. To tune in, visit www.hdsb.ca. Registration is not required.
