Gang on bikes fail in carjack attempt

An Oakville man suffered minor injuries after he was beat-up during a failed carjacking attempt.
Halton Regional Police say the incident took place around 10:20 p.m. on Oct. 15 in a parking lot at Pilgrims Way and Pineway Crt.
They say the victim got out of his car and was talking on his phone when a group of men, who approached on bicycles, jumped him, repeatedly punching and kicking.
The attackers took the man’s car keys and were attempting to get away with the vehicle when they changed their minds and rode away on their bikes, possibly scared off by another person who came by.
The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment. Descriptions of the suspects were vague.
