Four Teens Charged in Oakville Armed Robbery

Four teens are facing a slew of charges after an armed robbery in Oakville early Friday.

The incident took place at 12:30 a.m.

That’s when four males – with their faces covered and wearing gloves – entered the Circle K convenience store at 2530 Sixth Line.

A clerk was forced behind the counter at gunpoint by one of the males, police allege.

The suspects scored cash, cigarettes, cigars, and lottery tickets from the store before fleeing.

The clerk wasn’t injured.

Patrol officers in plain clothes saw a suspicious vehicle near Dundas St. and Neyagawa Blvd. at 1:45 a.m.

The vehicle pulled into a plaza, parking across several spots.

Three people were seen walking out from behind a building and toward the vehicle.

The officers identified themselves as police and the three people fled.

Officers pursued them on foot, arresting two.

A third person was found hiding in some bushes behind the plaza.

All three were in possession of several items believed to have been stolen from the Circle K, police allege.

The driver remained with the vehicle and was arrested, but was later released after investigators confirmed there was no involvement in the robbery.

Tactical officers nearby saw a male matching the description of the fourth outstanding suspect trying to get into a taxi in a nearby plaza a short time later.

He was arrested without incident.

Two Mississauga boys, ages 16 and 17 are each charged with robbery with firearm; point firearm; wear a disguise; possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; possession of property obtained by crime.

Another 16-year-old from Mississauga is charged with: robbery with firearm; point firearm; wear a disguise; possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; possession of property obtained by crime; three counts of failing to comply with a recognizance.

A third 16-year-old boy from Mississauga is charged with: robbery with a firearm; point firearm; wear a disguise; possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; possession of property obtained by crime; fail to comply with an undertaking.

Their identities are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
