Summer road work is here and for Milton drivers that means traffic delays.

Residents are being asked plan their travel in advance and remain patient as the Town kicks off its expanded asphalt stabilization program (EAS) this month.

Beginning July 12 at 7 a.m. to Sept. 3 at 7 p.m., lane restrictions will occur daily as planned road construction, shoulder enhancements and driveway transitions are completed on local rural and industrial roads.

Work is scheduled to be done on First Line Nassagaweya, from 28 Side Road to Arkell Road, Lawson Road, from Esquesing Line to 310m north of Steeles Avenue and Side Road 25, from Regional Road 25 to Peddie Road.

“The Town of Milton is investing in community infrastructure to make your travel safe and accessible,” the Town said on its website. “We thank you for your patience.

“During construction, the public is encouraged to plan travel in advance, consider alternate routes, follow signage and be patient while traveling in and around construction areas.”

During all planned EAS work, access to all residences and emergency services will be maintained.

Construction timelines are dependent on several factors, including weather. All Milton road closures can be found by clicking on the link for the Town’s interactive map on https://www.milton.ca/en/news/expanded-asphalt-stabilization-program.aspx.
