An employee at a Fortinos store location in Oakville has tested positive for COVID-19.
The local business, located at 493 Dundas St. W., reports that the employee’s last day of work was Feb. 6.
The supermarket says it is working hard to provide essential goods and services to people across the country while making sure to take the necessary steps to ensure the safety of their customers and colleagues.
This is why the company says they want to remain transparent about all positive COVID-19 cases in their stores across Canada.
“Given the import role we play in our communities, we are prepared for all possible situations, including a positive test for COVID-19 in our stores,” a statement on the company website said.
“In these cases, we work closely with public health and follow their guidance to ensure proper notification of close contacts and required cleaning and sanitization in our stores.”
