Craft beer has been trending harder than any other libation, and so we’re clearly excited to tell you that select batches of suds are on deck in Halton Hills as the Georgetown Craft Beer Festival takes place this weekend.

Head for the Hills is a day of craft beer and cider sampling, plus gourmet food and live music, all out in the country on Sept. 16.

And the forecast is on our side, apparently, so get your tickets, y’all.

It was recently voted the No. 1 beer festival in Ontario and last January Head for the Hills received the Arts Alive Canada 150 award for the best New Cultural Event in Halton Hills.

Vendors include Nickel Brook Brewing, Orange Snail Brewers, Beau’s, Bayside, Wellington, Trestle, and Shiny Apple Cider.

Gourmet food trucks will be there to soak up the booze in your belly.

The roster include Hank Daddy’s Barbecue, The Salted Pig, Meltdown Cheesery, Mustache Burger, and Loco Por El Asado.

Admission includes a customized Head for the Hills beer stein and four tokens for four samples of beer or cider.

Here are the ticket options:

  • Last Minute Lager Lovers $29
  • Party Animal #3 (group of four) $100

Additional tokens are available for purchase on-site (four tokens for $5).

This is the third time the event is taking place after the four service clubs of Georgetown (Rotary, Lions, Kiwanis and Kinsmen) united to launch the festival in 2015.

Head for the Hills is entirely volunteer-run and 100 per cent of proceeds benefit local charities such as Food4Kids North Halton, a group providing food for youth who are at risk of malnutrition.

Roughly $5,000 was donated to Food4Kids in 2015, with $15,000 raised in 2016.

The event is running on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Trafalgar Sports Park (11494 Trafalgar Rd).

Cheers!
