Company will plant 450 trees in Oakville

Oakville will be getting a little greener in the next few days.

Siemens Canada in partnership with Tree Canada and Conservation Halton will be planting 450 trees across the town using volunteers from the company.

The Oakville-based engineering and electronics firm has made a commitment to the environment and over the past several year has planted 14,599 trees across the country and contributed $444,000 to Tree Canada, a non-profit organization the promotes the planting and nurturing of trees in Canada.

Last year, Siemens was recognized by Tree Canada with the Eterne  
Award for the superior social responsibility, environmental stewardship  
through ongoing support of Tree Canada and its programs.
