A mainstay for those who craved comfort food in Oakville for as long as most can remember has closed.

A mainstay for those who craved comfort food in Oakville for as long as most can remember has closed.

The Pic-A-Deli Restaurant and Delicatessen shut its doors yesterday (Oct. 9) for the final time.

The restaurant has been operating in Oakville for almost 40 years, with current owners at the location for the past six.

Located at 670 Fourth Line just north of Speers Rd., the Pic-A-Deli had just about everything you desired and was always open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The varied menu meant you could get sandwiches, burgers, pizza and wings as well as breakfast or a beer, depending on the time of day. On several occasions a band would perform or patrons would get up and sing a tune during karaoke nights.

Closing comes as a combination of various factors, including the end of a lease agreement and the uncertainly of the pandemic.
