On Dec. 21, Ontario announced that effective Dec. 26, Halton Region would be moving into lockdown along with the province as a whole, resulting in changes to Milton Public Library (MPL).

In response to this announcement, all MPL branches will be closed effective Dec. 24 at 12.30 pm until Monday, Jan. 4, 2021.

This will allow staff to re-configure the re-opening of branches following the holiday season.

From Jan. 4, 2021, Sherwood branch will remain closed.

Main Library and Beaty branch will be providing curbside collection, including access to holds and on-demand printing and 3D printing (Main location only) services.

These services will operate on the following schedule.

Sherwood’s book drop will be closed to the public effective Dec. 23 at 5:00 pm.

With the exception of Sherwood’s items, any borrowed items will need to be returned directly to their home location.

While curbside collection is the only way MPL can continue providing access to its physical collections at this time, all of MPL’s programs will continue online.

The public is also encouraged to continue to access MPL’s online resources.

As soon as they are able, MPL will open the doors to all of their branches and look forward to welcoming patrons back as soon as possible in 2021.
