Starting May 1, PRESTO services are moving out of libraries and community centre and into all eight Shoppers Drug Mart locations in Oakville.

Services will continue at the Town Hall, Oakville Transit locations, and at the GO Stations. According to the Oakville Transit website, these changes will allow the town to make better use of their financial resources.

Oakville Transit took to Twitter to share the news.

People can still buy PRESTO cards online at prestocard.ca with an issuing fee of $6. However, it will take up to five business days for delivery.

Oakville Transit monthly passes can also be loaded online at prestocard.ca, over the phone, at any Shoppers Drug Mart, Town Hall or Oakville Transit location. People cannot load their Oakville Transit monthly pass at a GO Transit station.

PRESTO is designed to allow people to move seamlessly across multiple transit systems such as Oakville Transit, Burlington Transit, GO Transit and MiWay. People can still add funds and/or a pass product from one or more transit systems at one of the locations mentioned above or online.
