Halton police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a motorcycle and rider “indirectly involved” in a Milton crash which sent a man to hospital.

The collision took place on May 29 along Britannia Rd. west of Fifth Line at 3:30 p.m.

That’s when a yellow Dodge Viper was heading westbound on Britannia when it lost control and left the road.

Police allege the Viper was racing an unknown motorcycle at high speeds prior to the crash.

A 51-year-old Milton man driving the Viper suffered serious injuries and was transported to St. Mike’s by air ambulance.

Britannia was closed for three hours as police were investigating.

The man remains in hospital with non-life threatening injuries and is listed in stable condition.

Before the crash, the motorcyclist was spotted on Fifth Line near the site of the tunneling construction trying to access a gated field.

The motorcycle is described as an enduro-style dirt bike that had yellow and/or blue colouring.

The rider of the dirt bike was wearing motocross equipment including boots, a chest protector, and a motocross style helmet.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Det.-Const. Chris Heffernan from the collision reconstruction unit at 905-825-4747 ext. 5420, emailing [email protected], or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
