Do you love reality TV?
It’s okay if you’re a fan, a lot of people are (even if many won’t admit it).
And since we’re not here to judge your taste for addictive (and perhaps dramatic) programming, we’re happy to tell you that a brand new reality TV streaming service has launched in Oakville, Burlington, Milton and beyond.
hayu–the all-reality subscription video on-demand service–is now available in Canada, after launching in seven other countries. Boasting over 6,000 episodes from over 200 shows, hayu calls itself “a reality-lovers dream.”
- Burlington imposing additional restrictions on sports and fitness activities
- Downtown Burlington cancels two events, but introduces new contest
- Food for Life offering free pumpkins in Burlington, Oakville and Milton
It’s also reminding people that a subscription costs less per month than a fancy smoothie ($5.99, tax included).
“We’re thrilled to now be delivering the innovative all-reality SVOD service – hayu – in Canada,” says Hendrik McDermott, SVP, Branded On-Demand, NBCUniversal International.
“The proven healthy appetite for reality programming amongst Canadian viewers is reinforced by early enthusiasm for hayu, with thousands already bingeing on multiple favourite shows – and we are excited to build momentum with Canadian subscribers.”
As far as shows go, viewers can stream Keeping Up with the Kardashians, The Real Housewives and Million Dollar Listing franchises and more–with 750 new episodes added each year. And since it offers full seasons of some fan favourites, viewers can binge watch all the Kardashian material they ever wanted to consume in one sitting.
hayu is available on multiple devices, so viewers can stream content on their phones, tablets, PCs and smart TVs.
As for how it works, subscribers can download their favourite shows to view on the go, and no contract is required.
Most episodes are available the same day as air on TV.
