Best brunch battle: Oakville vs. Mississauga

There is no battle more serious and important than the battle between two cities vying to be recognized as the best place to go for exceptional brunch.

There is no battle more serious and important than the battle between two cities vying to be recognized as the best place to go for exceptional brunch.

We at insauga.com and inhalton.com have searched far and wide for the best brunch joints in both areas, and our Top 5 picks are about to battle it out—and you can vote for your favourite in the poll below.

When it comes to excellent brunch food, every ingredient counts. Are the Eggs Benny perfectly poached? Are the pancakes soft and fluffy? Are the dishes creative? Are the mimosas delectable?

Both Mississauga and Oakville are known for their respective food scenes, and both offer a ton of excellent brunch restaurants—but only one municipality can have the absolute best hotspots.

So, here’s a look at each city’s best spots on our signature Top 5 lists on insauga.com and inhalton.com.

Where will you be eating this weekend?

Mississauga

Top 5 brunch spots in Mississauga

They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but we would argue that it doesn’t hold a candle to an early afternoon brunch. If you want to relax over a breakfast and lunch hybrid in Mississauga, the options are endless. Some places worth checking out include the elegant and stunning Glenerin Inn (which also functions as a hotel and spa), the chic Breakwater Restaurant (which is located inside the Waterside Inn in Port Credit), the modern and unique Kravingz in Clarkson, the relatively new and trendy Capra’s Kitchen and our number one pick, the creative and delicious Mexican brunch joint that is Huevos Gourmet in Port Credit. While Huevos Gourmet is our number one, we know Mississauga is a great city for brunch.

Oakville

Top 5 Brunch in Oakville

If you’re looking for brunch in Oakville, you might find yourself overwhelmed by the sheer amount of options in the tasty little town. Some places you don’t want to miss include the classic and traditional Harbourside Artisan Kitchen, the trendy and ever-popular Harpers Landing, the delicious and delightful La Parisienne Creperie in the town’s scenic Bronte area, the higher-end (for good reason) Hexagon and our number one pick, the popular and always-busy Kerr Street Cafe. While Kerr Street Cafe got top marks, we know Oakville is a hotspot for elegant brunch menus.
