A very popular store will soon be coming to Oakville Place.

This new opening is one that both two-legged and four-legged customers can get excited about.

PetSmart, Canada’s largest specialty retailer, is coming to Oakville Place in 2019.

Introducing PetSmart to Oakville Place will help promote the mall as a place where shoppers can go for their everyday necessities.

“Oakville Place has always been a place for communities and families to gather and meet their everyday shopping needs,” Carl King, General Manager, Oakville Place, said in a recent press release.

“The introduction of PetSmart positions Oakville Place as a destination for these important members of our families.”

The opportunity to bring in new retail tenants to Oakville Place was presented after Sears Canada closed the remainder of its stores early in 2018.

The large format space, according to a recent press release, was subdivided to accommodate a broader range of tenants, including PetSmart.

PetSmart offers a wide selection of pet supplies including food, treats, and supplies (such as beds and furniture) for a variety of different animals such as dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, fish, and small pets.

King noted that this new addition is just one of the changes that are in store for Oakville Place in order to prepare for the long-term growth of the mall.

“For nearly 40 years, Oakville Place has been the go-to shopping destination for the community,” King said in a recent press release.

“We are ensuring the changes we are making to our tenant mix and retail experience reflect the needs of the community. With these latest additions, we’re striking a balance between fashion, food, wellness, family and convenience and setting the property up for long-term growth.”

An exact opening date has not yet been announced but we will provide updates as they become available.
