5. Langdon Hall

Located in Cambridge, Ont., this historical mansion was transformed into a hotel and spa in 1989 and has been providing guests with a country-chic experience ever since. Book a date night with your girls at Langdon Hall, where a special women’s getaway includes one-night accommodation in a luxurious guest room, wine tastings, as award-wining three-course dinner, a fun and creative paint night, a relaxing sunrise meditation, breakfast, yoga, and a gift from from the hotel and spa, all for $670. Book fast, there are only two night available – March 7 and March 14. If you’re not feeling that package or want different dates, try the cooking retreat for $705 which includes one night’s accommodation, a three-course dinner and breakfast the next morning, and a one-and-a-half hour themed cooking class. There’s always something happening at Langdon, so whatever you decide, it’s going to be a cozy, luxurious, relaxing weekend.

4. The Nordik Spa

Ten minutes from Ottawa in Chelsea, QC., is where you’ll find the Nordik Spa. Scratch your Blue Mountain/Scandinave Spa trip (at Nordik you won’t be faced with the awkwardness of running into your frenemies!) and road trip to Quebec instead for the relaxing, quaint atmosphere here. Massages, saunas, cold pools, and gourmet food await – check out the Panorama Lounge, that’s complete with crackling fireplaces and a group-friendly atmosphere for a gossip session or to hash out your latest entrepreneurial ideas, and you can share wine and meat and cheese plates, too. This place also hosts activities now and again – for example, snowshoeing under the stars is coming up soon. Whichever services you book, keep in mind that there’s another major bonus in planning a girls’ trip to the Nordik Spa – you’re bound to hear sexy. Quebecois. Accents.

3. Pillar and Post

Pillar and Post, located in the always classic getaway destination Niagara-on-the-Lake (NOTL), is actually Ontario’s only five-star country inn. Escape to NOTL’s Pillar and Post for their 13,000 square foot indoor and outdoor spa, Tuscan-style fune dining restaurant complete with a poolside patio (if you’re planning a summer trip, perhaps), and a wine bar and lounge. You could even be a four-diamond diva and get the best of a girls’ getaway here, including a spa credit, wine, and a cheese plate when you book with three friends. Let’s not forget that this place is walking distance to different parks and attractions in NOTL, so you don’t have to hole up at the inn for the entire weekend – you and your girls can get out and explore. Vintage hotels are always a good choice for a small group seeking some time away from the city.

2. Drake Devonshire

The main highlight at the Drake Devonshire in Prince Edward County is this…people rave about their brunch. Whether you’re feeling steel cut oats, blueberry scones, some classsic avo toast, pancake, eggs Benny, or all of these above, you’ll find it at the Drake. If you and your girls have ever wanted to stay at The Drake Hotel in TO but didn’t think you could justify a night in a hotel when you live just 30 minutes or so outside the downtown core, this Drake property is far enough from home to make the splurge with it. The trendy and boutique Drake Devonshire, located in Wellington, Ontario, is a restored historical property with a ton of natural and cultural appeal. The hotel boasts performances by local musicians and it can offer you opportunities to enjoy art, wine, sightseeing, hiking, biking and more. This hotel–which also offers a renowned onsite resto–isn’t cheap, but sometimes you’ve gotta treat yo’self. This place also has some good entertainment options nightly so you can really mix up your getaway – perhaps with some booze and dancing.

1. Ste. Anne’s Spa

Incredible and varied spa treatments. Delicious and classy fternoon tea. Cozy cottage accommodation. Multi-course dinners and lunches. Hot breakfasts. A big, fluffy robe. And complete use of spa facilities. If you’re looking for an epic girls’ weekend, Ste. Anne’s in Grafton, Ont. is your spot! This rustic, laid back spa is very homely and very accommodating. It’s designed for you to relax, eat wholesome food, and even enjoy a gluten-free bakery. Want something even more personal (though pricey)? You can book accommodations with a private chef. There’s also an added bonus if you and your girls are drinkers – Ste. Anne’s allows you to bring your own wine or liquor with no corkage fees – so you can drink up at no additional charge from the spa. You can feel really good during your stay because Ste. Anne’s is also working to reduce its ecological footprint as much as possible. Sign me up!
