Worker at Burlington Fortinos tests positive for COVID-19

A worker at a Burlington Fortinos grocery store has tested positive for COVID-19.

The case involves an employee at the store located at 5111 New St. near Appleby Line. The store remains open.

According to Loblaws Companies Ltd., the parent company of Fortinos, the worker tested positive on a presumptive case. The unidentified person last worked in the store on October 14.

“Given the important role we play in our communities, we are prepared for all possible situations, including a positive test for COVID-19 in our stores. In these cases, we work closely with public health and follow their guidance to ensure proper notification of close contacts and required cleaning and sanitization in our stores,” Loblaws says in a post on its website.
