A 19-year-old Oakville man is facing 30 charges following a series of violent robberies in Oakville, Burlington, and Toronto.
Halton police say they’re “actively pursuing leads” to find his accomplice.
It began on March 14 when a masked man – armed with a knife – entered the Petro Canada gas station at 1550 North Service Rd. W.in Oakville.
The suspect ordered the clerk to open the cash register and went behind the counter removing cash, cigarettes, cigars and the employee’s cell phone.

He fled in a waiting vehicle.
The same suspect held up the 7-Eleven convenience store at 3455 Fairview Street in Burlington on March 20, say investigators.
He entered the store, again with a knife.
The man demanded money, stealing cigarettes, cigars, cash, and the employee’s wallet before fleeing into a waiting vehicle.
Halton police say the same man was involved in a series of thefts from vehicles in Burlington on March 5 and March 6.
During these thefts, the man and an accomplice entered six vehicles and stole a variety of personal items, including a wallet, before using stolen credit cards, say police.
At the same time, Toronto police were searching for a suspect behind two robberies: the first on March 10 at a Petro Canada on Kipling Ave., and another at Pioneer Gas Bar on Brown’s Line on March 16.
Halton police raided an apartment at 205 Queen Mary Dr. in Oakville and arrested the man, seizing several items linking him to the robberies.
Colin Borne is charged with: four counts of robbery with violence; four counts of wear disguise; four counts of weapons dangerous; four counts fail to comply probation; six counts of theft; eight counts of fraud under $5,000.
