In a display of gratitute to healthcare workers this evening, first responders flashed their lights and blasted their sirens while driving by Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington.

In a display of gratitute to healthcare workers this evening, first responders flashed their lights and blasted their sirens while driving by Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington.

Halton police, paramedics, Ontario Provincial Police, and Burlington Fire all participated in the event to give thanks to healthcare workers who are working overtime during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Burlington mayor Marianne Meed Ward was also present to deliver a message directly.

“From the bottom of our hearts, lots of Burlington love to you and thank you for what you do,” said Meed Ward.

The mayor also thanked residents who stepped out on their front porch, sidewalk, or balcony to applaud healthcare workers.

“Thank you Mayor Meed Ward and Halton First Responders,” said Joseph Brant Hospital President Eric Vandewall. “We are heart warmed by your support for the JBH team!”

“Heaps of gratitude to everyone on the healthcare frontline at Joseph Brant Hospital,” Halton police said on Twitter. “Thank you for putting yourself in harm’s way each day to protect our community.”
