Burlington is solidifying its reputation for being a popular place to buy cannabis in the GTA.

Currently under review is an application for the 16th cannabis retail store in the city.

The approval of the application is in the hands of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), but it does meet all of Burlington’s guidelines as approved by City council.

Still, the public can have a say in the process though written submissions to the AGCO by December 2. After that date the AGCO will consider all written comments and available information to decide whether the application for the proposed store location will be approved.

The proposed location for the latest cannabis store is at 1235 Fairview St.

Currently there are 10 licensed cannabis retail stores operating in Burlington since the ACGO moved to an open licensing system earlier this year. With the current applicant, there are six more stores going through the approval process.
