This summer, in partnership with the City of Burlington, the Sound of Music (SOM) Festival will be hosting a virtual Canada Day celebration that will feature free streamed performances by several local artists.
The annual festival has been in operation since 1980 and is known for celebrating art, culture and music.
Last year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival was cancelled. While it will look a little different this year, fans of the festival will still be able to enjoy a virtual experience from home.
Earlier this year, the festival issued a call out for local artists after sharing the news that it would in fact be proceeding virtually in 2021.
“While we won’t be gathering in Spencer Smith Park for 10 days of Festival fun – we will be presenting a range of experiences that remind you of that Father’s Day feeling. It’s a new year of making SOM memories as we return to live,” read the SOM Festival’s website.
The show and activities pertaining to it will be available at soundofmusic.ca.
