Re-launched website hopes to attract business to Burlington

Burlington is banking on a re-launched website to help attract business into the community during the time of COVID-19.

InvestBurlington.ca will now focus on storytelling and user experience as well as providing the information businesses and investors can use to locate and grow a business in Burlington.

“The new InvestBurlington.ca website will help Burlington put our best foot forward in attracting, retaining, and supporting business in Burlington,” said Anita Cassidy, Executive Director of Burlington Economic Development. “We set out to create a site that is distinct from our peers by allowing white space, fresh and distinct colours, and powerful images. The site doesn’t just present data and facts, it tells Burlington’s story in a light-hearted and authentic way. It tells the story of what makes us Canada’s number one community.”

The City sees the new version of the website as a pivotal enabler for achieving the goals laid out in Burlington’s strategic plan to grow economic prosperity, which has intensified during the pandemic.

Investburlington.ca features elements that were popular on the previous site, including the site selector tool, BurlingtonSites, and the data centre. The new site also provides information on how Burlington Economic Development is continuing to support businesses through the COVID-19 pandemic, including the Burlington Economic Recovery Network, Digital Service Squad and Burlington Safe Restart grant program.

“Now more than ever, we need to make sure we’re connecting with our audience online. Not only has frontline customer service moved to a digital model, but so has much of what we are doing to attract new investment to our community,” said Randall Smallbone, Chair of the Burlington Economic Development Board of Directors. “The new website is a key tool for connecting with our business community and our partners, as well as in reaching new audiences and attracting investment to the community.”
