This may just be a matter of opinion, but there is truly nothing better than a good sub.

This may just be a matter of opinion, but there is truly nothing better than a good sub. The combination options are endless, and they can be eaten for lunch or dinner (and if you’re like me, even for breakfast). And if you’re a sub lover who resides in Burlington, you may be excited to read that a very popular sub shop has opened in the city.

On Aug. 6, 2019, under the ownership of Franchisees Steve and Olimpia Panella (who are both first-generation first responders), Firehouse Subs opened in Burlington.

Besides providing customers with subs, the restaurant works to provide funding, life-saving equipment, and education opportunities to first responders and public safety organizations.

Firehouse Subs was inspired by the founders Chris and Robin Sorensen after Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

The Florida-native restaurant first came to Canada in 2015.

Now, the newly opened Burlington location marks the company’s first location in the city and 28th location in Canada. And the owners of the Burlington location also own and operate Firehouse locations in Milton and Stoney Creek.

The Burlington location, however, is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. In addition to subs, the restaurant offers in-house catering services, from sandwich and dessert platters to salads and snacks.

However, customers can still just pop in to grab a sub such as the number one selling ‘Hook & Ladder sub’ – a sub that is loaded with smoked turkey breast and Virginia honey ham, and consists of Monterey Jack cheese, and served with mayo, deli mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion, and a kosher dill pickle on the side.
