Police Make Arrest in Connection with Bank Robbery in Burlington

Halton police recently announced that they have arrested 38-year-old Jeffrey George Gorsline, a suspect who is originally from Nova Scotia who was also wanted in connection with a Bank of Montreal robbery in Niagara Falls.
Police say the Burlington and Niagara Falls robberies occurred on the same day. They also allege that Gorsline is wanted in connection with three October bank robberies in eastern Canada.
On Saturday, Oct. 28, the TD Canada Trust bank located on Guelph Line in Burlington was robbed.

Police allege that at approximately 12:25 p.m., a lone male suspect entered the bank and approached the teller. The accused provided a note demanding cash and indicated he had a weapon. The teller complied with his request and an undisclosed amount of cash was handed over.
No weapon was observed during the robbery and no injuries were reported.
On Oct. 30, Gorsline was arrested by OPP officers. He was subsequently incarcerated at the Kenora Jail.
Police say Gorsline was eventually transferred to Maplehurst Correctional Complex.
He was charged with one court of robbery and appeared in court on Dec. 1. He was remanded into custody and will appear for a bail hearing on Dec. 18.
