Police investigation leads to large drug seizure in Burlington

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) Burlington Street Crime Unit has completed a lengthy drug investigation with a pair of arrests and a large drug seizure.

Police say on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, investigators executed residential search warrants at two residences; one of which was in Burlington and one in Kitchener.

According to police, as a result of the investigation, three grams of cocaine, 562 oxycodone pills, six grams of methamphetamine, 52 Vivan pills (Amphetamine Derivative), four LSD tab, one gram of psilocybin and 343 grams of cannabis were seized.

In addition to the drugs, police also seized approximately $23,000 in Canadian currency.

Patrick Jones, a 46-year-old from Burlington has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking – psilocybin, possession for the purpose of trafficking – oxycodone, possession for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine, possession for the purpose of trafficking – amphetamine derivatives, possession for the purpose of trafficking – LSD, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 and possession of cannabis for the purpose of distribution.

Malgorzata Zoravkovic, a 39-year-old from Kitchener has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking – psilocybin, possession for the purpose of trafficking – oxycodone, possession for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine, possession for the purpose of trafficking – amphetamine derivatives, possession for the purpose of trafficking – LSD, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 and possession of cannabis for the purpose of distribution.

Police say both accused have been released pending a court appearance.
